Don't use guns to destroy this crate, as it reflects bullets and has high health that can easily waste your ammo.
Destroy it to get a guaranteed Flare Gun, which can then be used to summon an air drop.
Be careful when going for this crate, as it only spawns in the candy store basement, meaning that you could get shot trying to escape with your weapons. If you don't spawn directly next to the back entrance of the candy store try and get a weapon first in case you have to fight.
You can try to camp the entrance to the basement and take out the player when they exit, getting their loot from the crate, most likely including the Flare Gun.

The crate can be inferred to be metal, as it takes a lot of hits to destroy the crate, with even more health than the Golden Eye Chest.
This is the second crate in the game to guarantee a Flare Gun being dropped when destroyed, with the first being the Flare Gun Case.
